Help! Admin can’t login to lcs, outlook for web

Are you unable to login to LCS (Lifecycle Services for Dynamics 365)? Does the page redirect to the LCS login immediately after a successful sign-in attempt?

You may have tried this with several different setups:

  • Different browsers
  • In-private browsing mode
  • Different computers
  • Different networks
  • Firewall disabled
  • Mobile login
  • Fresh install of Windows

Opening a ticket with Microsoft Support may well result in a runaround. They’ll probably ask you to repeat all the steps you already tried. They might ask you to run a Fiddler trace.

The solution below might work for you, if the following conditions hold true:

Are you unable to login to Microsoft Outlook for Web? Do you get error message 500 “Something went wrong” with subheadings “Multiple Redirects Detected” and “Click here to sign out” and a button to “Refresh the Page”?

Are you able to login to Yammer but unable to see certain messages or communities?

Most importantly – Is your account a global admin, as configured via admin.microsoft.com?

Solution:

To fix this issue, the Account must have the Global Administrator role only. If any other Administrator Roles are present on the Account, that causes the problem dsecribed above.

Step-by-step Solution Instructions

Navigate to admin.microsoft.com > Users > Active Users.

Edit the Account that is having issues.

Remove all Administrator Roles from the account except Global Administrator.

Save the Account.

Logout and Login.

LCS, Outlook Webmail, and any other sites that utilize this Microsoft Work Account should now be working.
